We are always excited to welcome enthusiastic undergraduate students to assist with research projects in the lab. These positions are typically paid hourly and provide valuable hands-on experience in plant breeding and genetics. Opportunities to earn research credit may also be available as projects arise.
Graduate students:
We are seeking highly motivated M.S./Ph.D. students to join the lab and contribute to research in cotton breeding and genetics. We welcome students with backgrounds in agriculture, plant breeding, genomics, phenomics, coding/data analysis, or AI/ML applications in biology and agriculture. Applicants with interdisciplinary interests that combine field and computational approaches are especially encouraged to apply.
Our lab is committed to fostering a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to think critically, take ownership of their research, and grow as scientists.
Interested students should send me an email with the subject line “Graduate Student Application” and include: A brief description of their research interests, CV, transcripts, and any relevant research or coding experience (e.g., GitHub, publications, conference presentations, or field experience)
Due to the high volume of inquiries, we may not be able to respond to every email, but all applications are reviewed carefully, and students who fit the lab mission will be contacted.
For graduate admissions, applicants must also apply to the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences at New Mexico State University and list me as a faculty member of interest.
